Miniature Knitted Bunnies

Here are my latest "babies". I have adapted them from an Alan Dart pattern I purchased online. He makes fantastic knitted soft toys, so if you are interested in knitting toys make sure you check out his website alandart.co.uk. But be warned... there are so many amazing characters to choose from,  you won't want to stop at one!

Just to show you the size compared to my thumb! Colour isn't quite right on this photo though.

The backs complete with bows.

Halloween Cauldron

A few years ago I saw in a magazine a 16 inch cauldron which had the front cut out in a jagged 'blast' shape so you could see a miniature scene inside. The top of the cauldron had a hard foam of some sort which had been painted. I really wanted to try something like it.

So, I bought a plastic cauldron from Spotlight when they had them for sale a couple of years ago.  Unfortunately my cauldron is only six and a half inches wide, so I knew that I would have to do the scene in half scale.

I managed to find a couple of witchy hags at the Riccarton Market one day... the perfect size. Well, they were once I'd cut the bottom off them!

In the weekend after completing my miniature piano, I decided it was about time I got to and started working on the cauldron. I started by 'yucky' painting some shelves,  and filling them up with witchy stuff. .. skulls, rotten apples etc.

Inside the cauldron I added a hanging skeleton,  bats, table with glass ball and cute witchy ornament (purchased at the Dunedin NZAME Convention last year), mouse, hand skeleton candle holders, mini cauldron etc. Now I just need to find a half scale black cat!

Here is a photo with lights off...

Lights on...

And inside. All ready for Halloween.

Weekend at Enchanted Garden

Well, I have just had a lovely weekend at Enchanted Garden with a group of ladies from Garden City Miniatures Club. We had two projects to choose from,  either a clock (working, full size) with a room box beneath,  which we could decorate as we liked; or a twelfth scale (1inch to 1 foot) piano complete with tiny glitter village and trees on top.
Having already made a clock with room box (I made a craft room), for my mum's birthday,  I decided to make the piano.
The wood was pre cut by Linda, so all we had to do was sand, fit, sand and glue! It was my first time using a dremel which really is quite easy and fun.
We also had to cut the keyboard to size and glue in place.

The finishing touch to the piano was add some cute little castors to the bottom.
Then of course, make the cute little houses and church, glitter,  glitter and glitter!  Add snow, lights for the buildings. Stick the trees and buildings on. Done! Awesome.

I even had time to start another project.  Check out my next blog to see what it is.

Rolleston Spring Fling Market

Mum (Rose) and I had stall at the Rolleston Spring Fling Market on Saturday.  Unfortunately the weather didn't play it's part... well maybe it did, as we always expect some showers in Spring, don't we! Anyway, we were cozy and out of the elements as we set up shop in the Community Centre. There were not a lot of shoppers around, not sure if this was to do with the weather or the fact that it was the first day of day light savings!

Some of my felted fairies/princesses/Woodland Folk found lovely homes though. Thank you to my customers, and those who ventured out to visit the market.

I will be putting some of my products on Trade Me, name 'millziz' over the next few weeks if anyone is interested.

More Miniature Knitting

Here are some more minis I have finished.  A golly in a bottle.  The bottle is just under two inches tall.

I have also just finished a little chook complete with tail feathers.  She is one and a quarter inches tall.

Sorry, my original photos have been deleted. Please scroll to the bottom of the page as I have reloaded them. Thank you.
